FAQs
What should I wear?
Our wedding will be an early-evening semi-formal wedding. Style guides and etiquette books suggest that male guests wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits. Tradition states that female guests wear cocktail attire.
What is the general plan for the evening?
The celebrations start at 6:00 p.m. at Het Kasteel van Groot-Bijgaarden.
Ray and Geert will be exchanging their wedding vows at 6:00 p.m. Immediately following the ceremony our guests will sip champagne in the gardens of the castle. At 8:00 p.m. there will be a sit-down dinner in the dining room. Following dinner our guests will have a chance to show their best moves on the dance floor.
Transportation by bus will be provided from the preferred hotels to the castle. Pick-up will probably be around 5:00 p.m. At the end of the evening, a shuttle service will transport guests back to their hotels on the hour (e.g., 12:00 a.m., 1:00 a.m., 2:00 a.m., etc.).
Where should I stay?
We recommend you stay in one of the three Brussels hotels (i.e., Amigo, Le Plaza, Ibis) that offer preferred rates for our wedding party. The wedding is taking place at the castle of Groot-Bijgaarden also known as Grand-Bigard which is about 15 minutes out of the center of Brussels.
We will provide transportation from the above-mentioned hotels to wedding and weekend events. If you are staying at another hotel or location, we would like to request you meet the other guests at these hotels at the set times for transportation to the events.
Upon your arrival in your hotel you will find an information package containing up-to-date times and locations for all the events.
You can find more information in Hotels in Belgium.
Did you register anywhere?
No, we did not. The gift of your presence is all that is required.
